whatsontv.co.uk, the IPC TX website for the biggest and best soaps and shows on TV, has launched Sing2Win, a singing contest to support its
X Factor 2008 coverage.
Sing2Win invites budding stars to submit a video of themselves singing, which will be featured on www.whatsontv.co.uk/sing2win. The top 10 contestants will be judged by X Factor finalists Same Difference to decide the overall victor who takes the £1,000 first prize.
Publisher Mark Winterton says: “whatsontv.co.uk's X Factor coverage is always popular and we're confident Sing2Win will generate even more traffic. We're constantly looking at ways to develop the whatsontv.co.uk offering and this user generated content will be a great addition to the site.”
Whatsontv.co.uk editor Patrick McLennan adds: “While we're hoping to unearth some real talent, Sing2Win will also be brilliant fun - we're certainly expecting some unique entries in the great tradition of the auditions on TV talent shows.”
Sing2Win will be promoted in What's on TV and in IPC Connect's women's weekly magazines. There will be banners on www.whatsontv.co.uk, www.nowmagazine.co.uk and on www.goodtoknow.co.uk.
To enter Sing2Win, contestants must upload their video via YouTube, tag it 'sing2win' and then email whatsontv@ipcmedia.com with the URL of their YouTube video.
